The tatted heart was adapted by Barbara Foster from a design by Mrs. J.M. Blackman, appearing in Modern Priscilla magazine in 1917. I used Lizbeth thread size 20, color 121, with the white being DMC Cebelia size 20. It was tatted as a gift for a friend and I added the tail to make it into a bookmark.
The other bookmark is a design by Jane Eborall. It, too, was tatted as a gift. I adapted this as a cat and used colors to depict the owners' own cat--green beads for the eyes and a pink one for the nose. The grey is DMC cordonnet special, color # unavailable, and DMC Cebelia blanc, both size 30. When the bookmark was seen , I immediately had "orders" for six more in varying colors to match the various cats.
